Talks on meth problem delayed again
Talks on Guam's meth epidemic have been canceled yet again between the Governor and the Attorney General.
AG Doug Moylan said it's disconcerting that our people are dying and the Governor's dilatory and now walled off response threatens all our safety.
The AG is pushing to meet with the Maga'Haga in an effort to stop the flow of methamphetamine into Guam from where his office believes is the primary source, the Port Authority of Guam.
He notes meth has gotten as low as $100 per gram and the amount and availability seen in their prosecutions and hearing from informants is through cargo at the port.
Moylan anticipated presenting data and solutions calling for a 100% meth inspection.
The AG added, “The Port's cargo meth influx can be easily eliminated with the right person serving as governor. Our invitation to conduct the round table remains open, however, we intend to target the Port and any government officials who are facilitating the illegal importation of meth into our community that has caused so much continuing death and injury.”
Adelup said a new meeting date has not yet been set.
