With a vision of tomorrow's islands today, Docomo Pacific along with local non-profit Island Success through Learning Association spread Christmas cheer to three of Guam's public schools throughout the week. It's something they have been doing for past few years as a way of equipping students with needed school supplies.

Pencils. Paper. Rulers. A sack to carry these essential items in. Many of us take these things for granted, but the reality is that many families struggle to provide these most basic, educational tools for their children.

Island Success Through Learning Association, Inc. was created back in 2009 to help improve the educational disparity that comes with poverty and over the past few years, they have teamed up with the fine folks over at Docomo Pacific.

And recently, they paid a visit to three Guam Department of Education schools, bringing some early Christmas cheer.

Jon Lara, senior brand manager with Docomo Pacific, said, "We identify three schools every year and we go there during their Christmas program and we will be providing the school supplies to the kids."

On a bright and sunny day, students sat patiently under the canopy, some donning Christmas pajamas, awaiting what Team Docomo and ISLA had in store for them. One by one, kids were presented a reusable sack stuffed with school supplies. The faces of the Lancheros lit up when they saw the Guam Fire Department engine pull up with a special guest, Santa!

"This is really a collaborative effort between Docomo Pacific and ISLA," Lara said.
