University of Guam unveil 2025 tide chart and Guam grower's calendars
The University of Guam Center for Island Sustainability and Sea Grant has announced the release of the 2025 Tide Chart and Guam Grower’s Calendars. It’s a valuable resource designed to support sustainable fishing and agriculture in Guam.
The Tide Chart Calendar features daily tide predictions, moon phases, and sunrise and sunset times, essential for recreational activities like fishing, boating, and beachgoing.
The Guam Grower’s Calendar, developed in partnership with Guahan Sustainable Culture, provides planting and harvesting guides based on the lunar cycle and traditional Chamorro agricultural knowledge.
It also includes tips on soil health, water conservation, and pest management, helping local farmers and gardeners achieve greater food security.
“Building the knowledge base of our people, especially the youth, is one of the best ways we can ensure our island’s future,” said Lt. Governor Joshua Tenorio.
“Thank you to all the fishers who submitted photos of their catches—this inspires us to protect and conserve our resources for future generations,” said Director of UOG CIS & SG, Dr. Austin Shelton.
Both calendars will be available for free starting Friday. The Tide Chart Calendar can be picked up at local fishing supply shops, while the Grower’s Calendar is available at the Guam Green Growth Circular Economy Makerspace at CHamoru Village.
