Machete attack defendant held on $5K bail
A man arrested in connection to a machete attack caught on camera is being held on a $5,000 cash bail.
Thirty-six-year-old Mickay Katsuta is charged with aggravated assault.
He appeared before a magistrate judge in the Superior Court of Guam Monday afternoon.
Court documents state Katsuta was drinking beer outside of the New Palms Market in Dededo Saturday afternoon.
That’s when he allegedly yelled at the victim and swung a machete at the victim’s head.
The victim got away unharmed.
The store’s surveillance captured the attack.
Officers arrived to find Katsuta still at the scene.
Prosecutors say he faces up to five years in prison, if convicted.
