Fraudulent party attempting to scam individuals with fake grant offers
The Guam Economic Development Authority is warning the community about a new scam targeting local residents.
Scammers are posing as GEDA representatives, telling people they must purchase gift cards to receive grant checks.
This is a fraudulent scheme, and GEDA emphasizes that they will never ask for any payment upfront from grant applicants.
Legitimate information regarding grant money will only come directly from GEDA’s official email addresses and phone numbers.
If you are contacted or have been targeted by this scam, do not share your personal information, and please report any suspicious activity to local authorities.
