Driver caught with meth during traffic stop
A man who already has a drug possession case filed against him in Superior Court is back in prison after being caught with meth.
Thirty-five-year-old Matthew Franklin Sablan is charged with possession of a schedule II controlled substance, along with a notice of commission of a felony while on felony release.
Court documents state police pulled over a car in Dededo for failing to stop at a posted stop sign on Dec. 26.
Sablan allegedly admitted to police, “I got something,” before authorities found a glass pipe and a baggie with meth.
Authorities noted he was previously arrested in 2023 on drug possession and retail theft charges. Court records show a judge issued a warrant for his arrest in Oct. 2023 after he failed to make his court hearing.
Sablan is being held in the Department of Corrections on $5,000 cash bail.
