Trial could be delayed for the man accused in a deadly armed robbery involving a tourist.

Defendant Stefen Camacho appeared before Judge John Terlaje in superior court this week.

The court was set to get a status update from parties if they are ready for trial.

But the hearing was continued to next Monday, January 6th.

Defense attorney Stephen Hattori told the court they are working to resolve the case.

The judge noting more than 70 witnesses were identified to testify should the case go to trial.

As KUAM reported, Camacho was given a slap on the wrist after he admitted to smoking meth while out on electronic monitoring.

He is being watched by third-party custodians.

Camacho is set to go to trial on January 15th.

You may recall, he and Keoki Santos allegedly planned to rob tourists after the pair lost money gambling last month.

Santos, who authorities believe was the shooter, died by suicide.
