Saipan Tribune bids farewell to readers in CNMI
A longtime newspaper has printed its last edition after 34 years of providing news coverage to readers in the CNMI.
The Saipan Tribune sending a farewell message in its final issue the community on New Year’s Eve.
The office closed its doors of operations on Tuesday.
The newspapers final print was a tribute that included messages from the staff and the advertisers.
“Together, we have navigated the highs and lows of our community’s story,” the company printed in its final edition. “Though this is goodbye, our gratitude is boundless. Thank you for more than three decades of love, loyalty, and support. We will carry the echoes of your kindness, faith, and trust with us always.”
The company stated the closure was due in part to “unforeseen calamities in recent years and continuing local economic challenges have thwarted our best efforts to sustain the business.”
