The Guam Department of Education has started the new year with fresh leadership as several GDOE employees step into new roles across their respective schools.

Jonathan B. Pilarca, formerly the acting principal of John F. Kennedy High School, has been promoted to principal of Astumbo Elementary School.

Dr. Asherdee Rosete will assume the acting principal position at the Home of the Islanders in his place.

Meanwhile, Dr. Carla Aguon will assume the acting principal role at Tamuning/Lyndon B. Johnson Elementary School from Jan. 6 through the Jan. 31.

In February, she will officially transition into the permanent position of principal.
