Guam's culture and history continue to shine in the nation's capital. Delegate James Moylan recently led a special ceremony to honor a long-standing CHamoru organization.
Early Friday morning, Guam delegate James Moylan swore in the 2025 officers of the Guam Society of America during a ceremony at the Guam Congressional office in Washington, D.C.
This ceremony is a revived tradition started by Moylan in 2023 to honor the oldest CHamoru organization in the United States.
The new officers include: Mike Blas as President, Sara Leon Guerrero Harrison as Vice President, Eva Mansapit as Treasurer, and Charlotte Rosario Harris as Secretary.
Founded in 1952 and formalized through an Act of Congress, the Guam Society of America promotes the island’s culture, history, and traditions throughout Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia.
