An exciting opportunity to showcase your civic knowledge and creativity is here.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the ninth circuit and the District Court of Guam have officially launched the 2025 High School Civics contest.

This year’s theme is “When Duty Calls: Why exercising the rights and responsibilities of citizenship is important to me.”

Students can submit entries in two categories, Essays and videos, starting Jan. 8 through March 7, 2025.

Local winners in each category will receive cash prizes:

  1. $300 for first place
  2. $200 for second place

These local winners will then advance to the ninth circuit level for a chance to win even bigger prizes including $3,000 for first place.
