More delays in high profile drunk driving case
More delays ahead in the trial for a woman accused in a high profile drunk driving case.
Defendant Nakita Aguon appeared in Superior Court today.
Defense Attorney David Lujan withdrew from the case leaving Aguon left looking for a new attorney.
The alternate public defender's office was appointed until then.
Aguon is charged with driving while impaired as a misdemeanor.
In February 2021, surveillance footage from a bar showed Aguon and three of her passengers drinking heavily.
This occurred prior to Aguon crashing into Jerry's Kitchen in Tamuning.
Defense contends Aguon was not the driver.
An off duty cop was a passenger inside the car.
Parties are expected back in court in the next two to three weeks.
