Today marks a new chapter in leadership, a new chapter in public service that is driven by deep commitment to our island and our people. This moment reflects the trust and confidence placed in you by your communities.”
She said this marks a call to action for the mayors to serve and lead with compassion, promoting progress to improve what’s needed in their respective villages.
“To our elected mayors and vice mayors, thank you for your dedication to public service. Your leadership will be measured by the results you deliver in your villages. Every decision you make is an opportunity to lead with integrity and show that our government can serve as a powerful force for meaningful change,” Arceo added.
Council President and Piti Mayor Jesse Alig also shared this message with attendees.
“As we pledge to work for our people and our island, let us vow to honor the men and women who came before us with the assurances of our compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience in the difficult yet rewarding duty of public service. We live in this free nation that allows us the opportunity to properly discern our future, to do things with great purpose and to govern our municipalities by serving our great people first and prioritizing the needs of all those who suffer and who have less,” said Alig.
