The Copa de Marianas is back, kicking off the highly anticipated 2025 Marianas Open tour in January.

The 2025 Marianas Open tour will launch with the Copa de Marianas on Jan. 25 at the University of Guam Calvo Fieldhouse. This prestigious international Brazilian jiu-jitsu circuit will make stops in Japan, the Philippines, Taiwan, and more, before ending with the Marianas open on Oct. 18, in Guam.

Last year, the Marianas Open broke records with competitors from 17 countries and over 1,000 visitors coming to the island.

Organizers expect this year to be even bigger, continuing to showcase Guam as a global destination for island culture and world-class jiu-jitsu.

The event will also celebrate local talent with the introduction of the Marianas Open Guam Athlete of the Year award. The award also includes:

  • Complimentary entry to all Marianas Open or Marianas Pro tournaments in 2025.
  • Fully covered airfare expenses to circuit events.
  • Kimono/gi sponsorship, providing one gi per quarter for the year.
  • A customized trophy honoring the athlete’s achievement.
