CNMI Congresswoman King-Hinds encourages veterans to join PACT Act registration and community call event
The Office of Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds is calling on all CNMI veterans to take part in the upcoming PACT Act Registration and Community Call event, organized by the U.S. Veterans Affairs Pacific Islands Health Care System.
This event offers a unique opportunity for veterans to learn about the historic PACT Act, enroll in VA health care, and access essential health services.
“As a member of the House Veterans’ Affairs Committee, advocating for more services, more outreach, and more facetime for CNMI veterans is one of my top priorities,” Congresswoman King-Hinds said.
“The PACT Act is a historic law that provides critical support to veterans who have been exposed to toxic substances during their service and their outreach this week is a great step toward improving the quality of service our veterans need. I strongly encourage all veterans in the CNMI to attend this event, get enrolled in VA health care, and learn more about the benefits and services available to them. Your service matters, and I am committed to ensuring that CNMI veterans receive the care and support they deserve and look forward to any feedback from you as to how services like this can be improved as we continue our work in Congress,” King-Hinds added.
The event will be held at the Multi-purpose Civic Center on Beach Road, Susupe, on the following days and times:
- Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2024 | 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
- Thursday, Jan. 9, 2024 | 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Friday, Jan. 10, 2024 | 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
U.S. Veterans Affairs representatives will be on-site to assist veterans with PACT Act eligibility, health care enrollment, and benefits information. Services include diabetic foot checks, vaccines, blood pressure screenings, and answers to health-related questions.
Congresswoman King-Hinds encourages all veterans in the CNMI to attend this event, take advantage of available resources, and share feedback to improve future services.
