CNMI Department of Public Safety donates car seats to Karidat Social Services
The Department of Public Safety is stepping up to promote child safety on the road with a generous donation to Karidat Social Services.
On Jan. 14, 2025, DPS donated two infant car seats and two convertible car seats to Guma Esperanza, a program under Karidat Social Services.
These car seats were procured through a grant from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and will be used to ensure the safety of clients during transport.
The donation is part of DPS’s community outreach to educate and enforce the use of car seats. According to experts, properly installed car seats can reduce the risk of fatalities by up to 71% for infants and 54% for toddlers.
With these efforts, DPS hopes to make the roads safer for every child and provide peace of mind for parents and caregivers.
