Port earns prestigious National Transparency Award for the fourth time
The Port Authority of Guam has earned national recognition with the Certificate of Excellence in Citizen-Centric Reporting from the Association of Government Accountants.
This marks the fourth time the Port has received the prestigious honor, having previously won for its Fiscal Year 2022, 2021, and 2019 reports.
The AGA commended the Port's commitment to government accountability and fiscal transparency, highlighting the effective use of visuals to communicate complex information in an engaging and accessible manner.
The report was prepared by the Port’s Financial Affairs Division, led by Chief Financial Officer Jose B. Guevara III, and supported by the Marketing Division.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero praised the Port’s achievement, saying the award reflects high standards of transparency and accountability expected from government agencies.
Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio added that the Port’s dedication to effective communication and fiscal responsibility sets an exemplary standard for government institutions.
General Manager Rory J. Respicio expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasizing the Port's commitment to ensuring the people of Guam understand how taxpayer and ratepayer funds are used.
The report covers the Port’s financial performance, accomplishments, challenges including recovery from Typhoon Mawar and future projections.
