The University of Guam has been awarded a $125,000 grant by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration to expand its coastal resilience work with local communities through the sea grant program.

This funding, appropriated by Congress, aims to enhance resilience in coastal and great lakes communities.

Through this grant, Guam Sea Grant will continue its support for extension staff involved in the Guam Green Growth Hub.

The Hub is a collaborative workspace that empowers community members with a circular business model designed to reduce resource consumption and enhance resilience.

Congressman James Moylan stated, "I am pleased to see the university of Guam receive this funding from NOAA to further build up on their important work in enhancing coastal resilience. This grant will benefit our community and contribute to the sustainable growth and development of our island."
