Caregiver accused of molesting autistic woman found guilty
A caregiver convicted of molesting a woman with autism faces a maximum two years in prison.
A superior court jury finding defendant Peter Scott Vonschimpf guilty of attempted 4th degree criminal sexual conduct and abuse of an incompetent person.
Prosecutors will seek the max sentence.
He is now required to register as a Level 3 Sex Offender on Guam’s Sex Offender Registry.
Prosecutors argued Vonschimpf victimized a nonverbal, autistic woman who cannot communicate.
The victim’s mother caught him naked running from victim's room when Vonschimpf admitted, "This is the first time it happened."
The jury acquitted him of attempted third-degree criminal sexual conduct.
