Optimism and energy in the air as president trump takes the oath of office.

Guam Delegate James Moylan was among those inside the Capitol calling it an honor to witness America's new President and Vice President being sworn in.

Moylan captured multiple photos during the event, stating, “I am excited about the country's direction in strengthening our military, our border, and the American economy. Likewise, I look forward to working with the Trump- Vance administration to further Guam’s agenda.”

CNMI Congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds sent a video to KUAM of her experience.

“Hafa Adai CNMI! We are here in the Capitol rotunda getting ready to start the inauguration. Super excited to see the new president get sworn in and his cabinet as well so we can get to work and get the business of delivering for the people of the CNMI. Love you, miss you. See you soon, CNMI,” King-Hinds said.

Republicans from the Marianas including former Guam Governor Felix Camacho made the trip to be a part of the historic ceremony.

Republican Party of Guam Chair, Senator Shawn Gumataotao, watched with the National Committee at the Omni Hotel.

“There was a lot of optimism and obviously for everyone in the room and in the city was just excitement for what the next four years will bring to America and excited again to get the opportunity to see the work of the Trump administration working with all the states and territories to make America great again,” said Sen. Gumataotao.

His attendance came as millions were up in arms over the 12-hour ban of the app TikTok.

“I guess there are people in my family that were very excited about Tiktok but again I guess most of the Americans that are on it are stoked too, so good for them,” Gumataotao added.

Vice Speaker Tony Ada was also among the group who each paid their own way to be a part of the celebration.

“There were already hundreds if not thousands of people already in line. We were able to make it in the Capital One arena where everyone gathered to watch the oath of office take place by President Trump. So we were in there…it was such an amazing feeling to be a part of this inauguration,” said Ada.

He is ready to see what the Trump administration will do for Guam.

“Overall, benefiting the Marianas is going to come in different ways and I think when President Trump talks about the IRS, perhaps we are going to see what kind of policies are going to benefit the people and the island,” added Ada.

A benefit that Republican Party of Guam Sergeant of Arms Benny Pinaula echoes, “It’s taking me a little time to digest. I was here in 2017 for his first inauguration and this time around it was totally, really different. More upbeat I would say, running into people from all walks of life...and it’s very refreshing to see all the support President Trump is getting.”

Pinaula also shared this message to anyone still uncertain about Trump's return to the White House.

“Take some time to go through the president’s speech and measure for yourself what he is actually saying. I think if you put it in that perspective, he is saying America first including us in Guam that he is putting us first,” said Pinaula.
