A history-making day in Washington as Donald Trump is inaugurated as the nation's 47th President.

The second of only two Presidents to serve non-consecutive terms.

President Trump retook power with renewed energy and purpose. His inaugural address promising action.

“The golden age of America begins right now,” Trump said, echoing themes that won him the White House.

“I will declare a national emergency at our southern border,” he added.

He hit  key issues that concerned many Americans including inflation and costs and prices.

The President signed a series of executive orders with an effort to make good on campaign promises.

“We will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens,” said Trump. “I will declare a national energy emergency and we will drill baby drill!”

President Trump also declared it U.S. policy to recognize two  genders only: male and female and intends to rename the Gulf of Mexico to ‘The Gulf of America.’

In a possible test of the limits of Presidential authority, he claimed the Panama Canal will become U.S. territory.

“We didn't give it to China and we're taking it back,” Trump said.

He also took swipes at his predecessor, saying, “From this moment on, America's decline is over.”

With republicans now in control of the White House and both chambers of Congress, the President made his way through the Capitol addressing supporters.

Then at the nearby Capitol One arena, the President addressed Americans in Washington to witness history.
