Plans for the new hospital and its projected costs are among the first priorities for the new Health Oversight Chair.

Senator Sabrina Salas Matanane announced an informational briefing to discuss the issue in early February.

She stated, “This briefing provides an opportunity for the people of Guam to hear directly from those involved in the planning process for the new hospital.”

“It’s essential that the public has a clear understanding of where this critical project stands and the anticipated costs,” Matanane added.

Governor Lou Leon Guerrero is moving forward with plans to build it along Route 15 in Mangilao.

The status of American Rescue Plan act funds allocated for healthcare improvements is also the agenda.

The briefing is Tuesday, Feb. 4, at 10 a.m. in the Guam Congress building in Hagåtña.
