A team of University Of Guam Accounting students earned top honors in the 2024 Government Finance Case challenge, winning the undergraduate division.

Albin Tinoso, Katelyn Villa, and Ilaria Williams-Dueñas each received $1,500 for their winning project, which involved creating a citizen-centric report and video presentation on the state of Maine.

The students were guided by Dr. Doreen Crisostomo-Muña, a professor at UOG’s School Of Business and Public Administration, who praised their ability to apply public sector financial principles to real-world problems.

This win highlights UOG’s efforts in preparing students for specialized careers in government accounting and showcases the future leaders of public service on Guam.
