Putting veterans first.

That was the highlight of the House Committee on Veterans’ Affairs oversight hearing held in Washington, DC this week.

Representatives concerned over the ongoing delays, wait times and limited services veterans across the country continue to face.

Multiple veterans shared the harsh reality they face.

CNMI congresswoman Kimberlyn King-Hinds telling the veterans they deserve better after admitting she thought the veterans access issues was isolated to the Marianas.

"I have always assumed that issue was limited to our islands and one of the reasons I ran for Congress was to be able to improve the quality of service. As I am sitting here and hearing about all these different challenges, I am crushed because we are here on the mainland and we are not able to provide quality of care here in American, then how are we going to be able to address the challenges of or remote islands," she said.

The congresswoman adding she will continue to fight for the services for all veterans in America.
