Guam Delegate shares staffing concerns with acting Secretary of the Veterans’ Affairs
There's an urgent need to increase Veterans' Affairs personnel in Guam.
Congressman James Moylan told this exact thing to acting Secretary of Veterans Affairs Todd Hunter noting Guam is home to nearly 200,000 patriots who love their country.
An enlistment, he said, that is at a higher rate than any other state or territory in the nation, and at the same level, the highest number of veterans per capita.
Moylan wrote that the Biden administration failed to adequately deliver the quality of the counseling and health care services the veterans deserve.
He stated, “As a proud veteran myself, I have experienced firsthand the difficulties in accessing veteran’s care in Guam. My experience here is not unique.”
And in light of President Donald Trump's executive order halting the hiring of additional federal civilian employees, Moylan asks for clarification on the impact this will have on the employment of any additional VA staff in Guam, while seeking support in increasing the VA staffing on the island.
