Thousands of dollars in bad checks lands one man in prison.

Twenty-four-year-old Patrick Saliva is charged with theft by deception and non-sufficient funds check.

Court documents state the defendant made about $6,000 in purchases and deliveries from Dec. 22 to Jan. 1.

The checks apparently never cleared due to insufficient funds.

The alleged victim was eventually forced to report it to police.

Saliva allegedly admitted to police he knew he did not have the money but still wrote the checks to the victim.

He was released on a $2,000 bond.
