Guam Delegate James Moylan congratulates Secretary Pete Hegseth on his confirmation as the new Secretary of Defense.

Moylan noted what Hegseth said during his confirmation process recognizing the strategic importance of Guam.

Hegseth took questions from reporters outside the Pentagon earlier this week.

“Every moment that I'm  here,  I'm thinking about the  guys  and gals in Guam,   in Germany.   Fort Benning and Fort Bragg on  missile defense sites and  aircraft carriers.  Our job is  lethality and readiness and war  fighting.  We're going to hold  people accountable,” said Hegseth.

Congressman Moylan stated, “Having a Secretary of Defense who will prioritize the safety and wellbeing of my constituents and for the islands surrounding the pacific is non-negotiable.  I sleep well at night knowing that the Trump administration has chosen the right man for the job and, as both a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the Vice-Chair of the RSC’s National Security Task Force, I look forward to working with him and the incoming department of defense leadership.”
