Gas thief gets six months in prison
One of the men accused in drilling holes into gas tanks for nearly 30 cars learns his fate in the Superior Court of Guam.
Twenty-year-old Jeremiah Unchango was sentenced to six months in prison before Judge Vernon Perez.
He apologized to the victim and told the court, "I'll do the time because I did it.”
Unchangco was given credit for the two months he’s already spent locked up.
The judge ordered him to self-surrender on Feb. 7.
As KUAM reported, Jeremiah along with his father Christopher Unchangco and brother Sabino Ayuyu were arrested on theft-related charges last June.
Prosecutors argue the co-defendants drilled holes into multiple cars to siphoned gas.
During sentencing, Jeremiah stated, "I just want to say sorry to whoever's property is damaged.”
