Residents to save over $50 monthly on power bills effective February
We’ve got good news for your wallet!
The Guam Public Utilities Commission has approved the Guam Power Authority's petition to lower the fuel recovery charge, proposed in the Levelized Energy Adjustment Clause, by 20.3%.
Starting tomorrow, Feb. 1, residential customers using 1,000 kilowatt-hours a month will save approximately $53 dollars and 19 cents on their power bills.
This reduction reflects declining global fuel prices, and the administrative law judge’s report said there’s a good chance costs could continue to drop.
GPA General Manager John Benavente said this move supports the authority’s commitment to affordable and reliable power.
Plus, with the Ukudu Power Plant set to launch later this year, even more savings could be on the way.
The new LEAC rate will be in effect through July 31 and customers will see the lower charges reflected in their next billing cycle.
