KUAM News Special: Making the Grade airs tonight following Primetime
A multi-million-dollar refurbishment project is underway for 12 Guam Department of Education schools.
This spans the island’s four regions and the mission? To upgrade these campuses in five critical areas and bring them up to standard.
Tonight, KUAM takes you inside the $125-million work order with our special “Making the Grade,” where we tour select campuses in their initial phase of refurbishment and hear from those whose schools didn’t make the list.
We follow Nik Cruz, GDOE’s Capital Improvement Project Manager, as he oversees this major undertaking.
“Right now, Core Tech and I are kind of going through our planning phase and seeing how we’re able to coordinate with the school principal and, of course, how we’re able to do the work while students are on campus,” said Cruz. “It is the intent of the superintendent to refurbish all of our schools.”
“That really just boils down to one–it’s the funding,” added Cruz.
KUAM will continue to bring you updates on the refurbishment project as work moves forward across these dozen schools. “Making the Grade” airs tonight following Primetime.
