Six months now since the passing of Public Laws 37-101 and 37-102, Senator Joe San Agustin is seeking answers on the implementation of funding intended to improve services at Guam’s Veterans Affairs Office.

The laws appropriated over $1.3 million to hire veterans service representatives and cemetery workers, as well as launch the Veterans Healthcare Assistance program.

However, Sen. San Agustin has expressed concern over delays in filling positions and rolling out services.

In a letter to the GVAO Director, he requests a status update on hiring, fund allocations, and the transportation program for veterans.

He says the community’s call for help was heard and funded and now, action is needed.
