Guam Community College celebrates first Environmental Technician Boot Camp graduates
Guam Community College marks a milestone as it celebrates the first completers of its Environmental Technician Boot Camp.
GCC honored 15 graduates in a completion ceremony for its inaugural environmental technician boot camp.
The intensive 16-week program equipped participants with skills in environmental biology, waste management, water protection, and more.
Completers also earned certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA 10, and work ethic training.
“Today is a big day for me and my peers as we’ve been looking forward to receiving our certifications,” Cundiff said.
“When I first signed up for this course of study, I was clueless what I’d be getting myself into...though I would like to glorify the good Lord for the outcome and the fruits of my labor. All the information I’ve learned in GCC’s environmental class has opened my eyes to a whole new world. This island and the world we live in – I’ll never see the same view ever,” she added.
GCC President Dr. Mary Okada said this program is part of a broader initiative to strengthen Guam's workforce, with more boot camps planned in ship repair, home health aid, and other critical industries.
