Trump's tariff tactics are taking shape with the Marianas keeping close watch and with the countries he's targeting quickly reacting.

The President's 10% tariff on all Chinese imports is now in place but it forced the Chinese government to impose a new 15% tariff on U.S. coal and liquefied natural gas, along with a 10% tariff on U.S. products from crude oil to pickup trucks.

This comes after President Trump announced a 30-day delay in 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada.

Both countries agreed to enhance border security.

“10,000 soldiers at their side of the border to stop fentanyl and illegal aliens from coming into our country,” said President Trump.

Tariffs are a tax on imports.

In the U.S., tariffs aim to discourage companies importing goods from places like China by making them pay more for the items they are trying to ship in.

They are typically charged as a percentage of the price a buyer pays a foreign seller. In the U.S., tariffs are collected by Customs and Border Protection agents at 328 ports of entry across the country.

The White House said the new tariffs are because of the deadly drugs pouring into the U.S.

Canada is promising a new fentanyl czar and moving forward with a $1.3 billion dollars reinforcement of its border.

But for China, tariffs will likely be felt by almost all Americans.

Trump said he'll speak with China's President Xi.
