Two senators from the 37th Guam Legislature now work for the administration.
The pair were picked up after neither were elected in the 2024 elections.
Former Senator Amanda Shelton has been tapped to serve as Deputy Director of the Department of Public Health and Social Services.
In the appointment letter, Governor Lou Leon Guerrero stated, “I truly appreciate your willingness to continue to serve our community and I am confident that your contributions will lead to meaningful improvements for our island.”
You may recall, Shelton ran in the delegate race but did not get enough votes to advance to the general.
Additionally, former Senator Roy Quinata is now a Special Assistant to the Governor.
Adelup said Quinata's duties in the unclassified position will focus on the Simon Sanchez High School construction, Fisherman’s Co-op construction and other capital improvement projects.
During the election, Quinata came in 16th out of the senatorial candidates trailing close behind the 15th and final spot in the legislature.
