The Guam Economic Development Authority has announced its first two investments under the Destinu Guåhan Venture Capital program, aimed at boosting tourism and food security on the island.
GEDA’s Destinu Guåhan program has invested nearly one million dollars in two local businesses: Fish Eye Marine Ventures and Vertical Industries.
Fish Eye Marine Ventures received $245,000 to revive the seawalker experience, a unique underwater helmet diving attraction. Vertical Industries secured over $786,000 for an indoor hydroponic and aeroponic agriculture operation, supporting local food production.
These investments represent a total of $2 million in private and public funding to fuel economic growth.
GEDA currently has $10 million available through the state small business credit initiative, offering up to $1 million per project to help entrepreneurs expand in key industries like tourism, agriculture, and technology.
Businesses seeking funding can apply through GEDA or receive guidance from the Small Business Development Center at the University of Guam.
