With the cost of living continuing to skyrocket, more of our people are forced to leave Guam in search of affordable living, according to Senator Christopher Duenas, as he reintroduces the Accessory Dwelling Unit Bill.

The proposed legislation aims to provide a practical and immediate solution to the housing crisis by allowing homeowners to build ADUs on their properties.

These units will hopefully create more affordable rental opportunities while enabling people to take care of their families, especially our man'amko.

Duenas said, “Our people should not have to leave the island they love because they can’t afford a place to live.”

The measure already has the backing of 11 out of 15 senators as co-sponsors, and Senator Duenas urges the remaining four to join in support as key amendments strengthening protections and responsible development are made.
