A thief is caught after he apparently tried to sell the item he allegedly stole on Facebook.

Forty-nine-year-old Joseph Quintanilla is charged with theft of property.

Court documents state the victim reported a trailer was stolen from his home Monday before spotting it on social media.

The victim told police he contacted the seller and agreed to meet up, but the suspect never showed.

Officers later spotted Quintanilla on the road with the trailer that had a fresh coat of paint.

Quintanilla allegedly admitted to police he saw the trailer on the street when he took off with it.
