The Guam Education Board made a decision on school decommissioning.

The GEB accepted Guam Department of Education Superintendent Dr. Kenneth Swanson's recommendation to close Chief Brodie Elementary School and re-align attendance areas to assign students to JM Guerrero, Tamuning Elementary, and Liguan Elementary as appropriate.

As KUAM reported, Swanson recommended the board take action on recommendations in the School Year 2025-2026.

Five votes were needed to take any action on the recommendations.

The GEB voted against closing Truman Elementary and postponed making decision on remaining schools.
