Thirty students from Tiyan High School's junior ROTC program got a first-hand look at the Guam National Guard’s Aviation Unit.

The students toured a UH-72 Lakota helicopter and spoke with Chief Warrant Officer Christopher Leon Guerrero about military aviation.

JROTC Instructor and Guard retiree, Chief Master Sergeant Ron Taitague coordinated the visit.

“As JROTC instructors we are always looking to inspire our students by showing them different opportunities that can come with choosing to serve,” said Taitague. “And as a retiree of the Guam Guard, I know how living here and serving here can be a meaningful alternative to active duty. I think that’s what our students learned today - that they can serve while having professional opportunities right here at home, serving our local community.”
