Following the implementation of Presidential Executive Order 14151 which addresses DEI-affiliated programs, approximately $11.4 million in grants managed by the Research Corporation of University of Guam have been affected, leading to necessary adjustments in staffing and program funding.

As a result:

  • Eleven grants have been paused, and one grant has been closed
  • Twelve employees have been reassigned to other grants. No employees are currently furloughed.
  • Forty student internships have been paused

Despite these challenges, UOG remains committed to ensuring minimal disruption to research and academic initiatives.

UOG is actively reallocating resources, expediting the drawdown of available grant funds, engaging in ongoing discussions with federal agencies to seek long-term solutions, and ensuring specific project deliverables are met.
