Senator pushes for airport modernization to boost tourism and economy

Senator Jesse Lujan has introduced Bill 67, a measure aimed at enhancing the Antonio B. Won Pat International Airport Authority.
The bill seeks to expand the airport’s revenue streams through retail concessions, duty-free operations, and premium travel services while streamlining contract procedures and incentivizing private investment.
Lujan said the legislation will help Guam compete with regional airports, attract more visitors, and create jobs.
The bill maintains compliance with federal aviation administration regulations and is cosponsored by ten senators, including Senators Christopher Dueñas,
Tony Ada, Tina Muña Barnes, Vincent Borja, Frank Blas Jr., Sabrina Salas Matanane, William Parkinson, Joe San Agustin and Shawn Gumataotao.
Lujan emphasized that a modernized airport will ensure Guam remains a competitive destination for tourism and business.
