GEC hosting election officials from other US territories later this month

Just because 2025 isn't a year when we all head to the polls doesn't mean the friendly folks tasked with managing elections aren't busy. The Guam Election Commission is preparing to host counterpart officials from other United States territories.
Executive director of the GEC Maria Pangelinan told KUAM News, "As we share our stories, we will learn from each other, and we hope to be able to help each other. We have American Samoa, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico, and of course, the CNMI."
While collaborative talks will center on grant management, operations, voter turnout and registration, a big topic up for discussion is cybersecurity and the growing nature of elections to adopt technology. "As the [Election Assistance Commission] learns about our challenges based on our distinct environments, they'll learn how to help us better," said Pangelinan.
Ultimately, the forum produces election tabulations that are swift, accurate and exciting. "Our voters here on Guam, I think," she noted, "can condifdently say are that our elections here on Guam are accurate, are true and are transparent."
