Breaking Wave Theatre Company is bringing a unique local touch to its spring production of “Romeo and Juliet," featuring original music composed by its cast and crew.

BWTC’s production of Shakespeare's classic, translated into modern verse by Hansol Jung, blends iconic poetry with CHamoru, Tagalog, and Chuukese, bringing a fresh perspective to the timeless story.

The music, composed by Shannon Dean San Nicolas, Joyce Torres, CJ Ochoco, Ean Taijeron, and Joe Tai, incorporates genres ranging from R&B to classical to rock.

Audiences can expect powerful tracks like “Oh Girl,” performed by Mercutio Actor Joey Datuin, and “Equation of Love,” a theatrical ballad by Joe Tai and San Nicolas.

Performances run from March 6 to March 8 and March 13 to March 15 at 7 p.m. at the Agana Shopping Center Expo Hall.
