Guam Legislature to host Mes CHamoru celebration honoring CHamoru heritage

March is Mes CHamoru, a time to honor and celebrate the history, language, and culture of Guam's indigenous people.
And this year, the Guam Legislature, in partnership with local agencies, is hosting a special celebration to commemorate the occasion.
Sen. Shelly Calvo, along with the Council on the Arts and Humanities, the Department of CHamoru Affairs, and the Guam Museum, will bring together cultural leaders, officials, and community members for a ceremony at the Guam Legislature.
The event will feature a press conference, a ribbon-cutting ceremony for a new cultural exhibit, and a chance for attendees to engage with CHamoru artists and historians.
Sen. Calvo said Mes CHamoru is more than a celebration, it’s a reaffirmation of identity and a commitment to cultural continuity.
The public is invited to participate in events throughout the month honoring the rich heritage of the CHamoru people.
