U.S. Coast Guard Myrtle Hazard patrol enhances regional maritime security

The crew of the US Coast Guard Myrtle Hazard has wrapped up a three-week patrol, strengthening maritime security across Guam and the CNMI.
For most of February, the crew covered nearly 1,700 nautical miles, enforcing federal laws and responding to search and rescue cases under Operation Blue Pacific and Operation Rematau.
They completed three security boardings, responded to five search and rescue cases, and executed 140 hours of coastal security operations. One response involved assisting a disabled vessel near Ritidian Point, ensuring the safe return of two mariners.
Coast Guard officials urge mariners to stay weather-aware as high surf, rip currents, and dangerous seas continue to impact the region.
