Government agencies in Guam can now apply for federal mitigation grants that could reduce disaster risks and flood damage.

The Office of Civil Defense announced the opening of the Notice of Interest period for FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities and Flood Mitigation Assistance Grant programs.

BRIC supports hazard risk reduction and infrastructure projects, while the FMA programs provide funding to address repetitive flood damage.

Eligible applicants are encouraged to begin the BRIC and FMA application process. Note the following important dates:

  • March 21, 2025: Notice of Interest are due via email to Lloyd Cubacub, State Hazard Mitigation Officer, at [email protected]
  • March 28, 2025: Applications are due to the OCD Hazard Mitigation Section in the FEMA Grants Outcomes management system for local review
  • April 18, 2025 (ET): Completed applications are due in the FEMAGO management system
