Guam Economic Development Authority Administrator Melanie Mendiola resigns

After six years with the current administration, the Administrator of the Guam Economic Development Authority has resigned.
Melanie Mendiola submitted her resignation to Adelup this week.
Governor Lou Leon Guerrero confirmed the now former administrator expressed she is seeking opportunity elsewhere.
“Mel is a very hard worker–she’s turned around GEDA, she’s been with me for six years–and she’s brought in economic investments. She has made GEDA what it should be, and that is to expand development here, make loans, provide for small businesses, provide loans for housing, and so forth. So GEDA is the lead for the hospital–but, there are people who will step in just as capable as Mel,” said Gov. Leon Guerrero.
No word yet what's next for Mendiola.
The Governor added she does not have anyone in place to fill the role.
