Senator calls for public hearing on critical infrastructure bill

Senator Telo Taitague is calling for fairness in the legislative process, urging a public hearing for a bill that would appropriate $10 million for urgent road repairs.
In a letter to Senator Chris Dueñas, Taitague expressed concern that Bill 39-38, which addresses critical infrastructure, has been delayed while other funding bills move forward.
She argued that public safety should be a priority, highlighting the need for road repairs amid a limited budget for the Department of Public Works.
Taitague also pointed to University of Guam’s increasing funding, which grew by over $9 million in two years, compared to DPW’s modest increase of just $500,000.
She said the public hearing process should reflect the community’s priorities and is urging immediate action to address Guam's deteriorating roads.
