The Guam Housing and Urban Renewal Authority is inviting the community to their town hall meetings to provide input on the use of $500.8 million in Community Development Block Grant Disaster Recovery funds for long-term recovery.

As the designated grant administrator, GHURA is responsible for developing an Action Plan to ensure these funds address unmet needs in housing, infrastructure and public facilities, economic revitalization, and mitigation in disaster-impacted areas.

This grant opportunity is only in the beginning stages, community feedback is essential in shaping funding priorities that reflect the needs of Guam’s residents.

To engage the public and learn about this grant, GHURA will host town hall meetings on the following dates, including a virtual session.

  • Monday, March 17 | Santa Rita Community Center
    • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday, March 18 | Mangilao Community Center
    • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Wednesday, March 19 | Dededo Senior Citizens Center
    • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, March 20 | Tamuning Community Center
    • 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A virtual session will be held on Friday, March 21 via YouTube Live at www.guamcdbgdr.org from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.

These town hall meetings provide an opportunity for residents, businesses, and stakeholders to learn about the grant and provide input to help shape Guam’s disaster recovery plan.
