For 109 years, the Guam Chapter of the American Red Cross has been a beacon of hope in times of crisis.

To celebrate these heroes, Lt. Governor Josh Tenorio proclaimed March as American Red Cross Month to highlight their ongoing mission to provide compassionate assistance to communities in need.

Guam ARC Board Chairman Marcos Fong said, “At the heart of the Red Cross are the extraordinary volunteers, many of whom are here today. Selfless individuals who donate their time, energy and expertise to make a profound difference in our community. Whether it is responding to typhoons, comforting families displaced by disasters or teaching preparedness classes, these heroes embody the spirit of service that defines the Red Cross. Their dedication ensures that our community stays strong and connected in face of diversity. Today, we also have an opportunity to celebrate them and their invaluable contributions to that mission.”

Fong also emphasized ARC’s important partnership with the Government of Guam, through which they were able to coordinate disaster preparedness initiatives, collaborate on emergency response plans, and work to build a more resilient community.
